In 2005, working as a contractor for E-Democracy.org, I was responsible for helping establishing several online local issues forums in the UK, funded by the Local E-Democracy National Project. My responsibilities included:
I would like to submit my time as the owner and manager of Mr. Tai's Chinese Restaurant as a project in my overall career portfolio. I think it makes sense here, because the experience of owning and managing a restaurant cannot help but to inform how I relate to clients and how I understand the issues that clients are dealing with.
Designed by a staff member at Ward 6, this site was built and themed by Tim Erickson. It's a relatively basic website with simple functionality that includes: blog, music calendar (artists & events), custom interface for site editors, and slideshows.
It is a Drupal 7 site. The completely responsive theme was build on the Zen framework with SASS.
This site had a soft launch on October 14th, 2016 to facilitate access to Ward 6's recently updated menus. However, work continues on the site with some planned updates to the design and some polishing of the theme.
In the spring of 2016, I joined a team at GeoCode 2.0 a public hack-a-thon sponsored by Open Twin Cities and a number of other local organizations. GeoCode 2.0 was designed to "bring people together to solve problems using the tools of technology in the shared geography of the place in which we all live."
Chalkboard Commons is a family run public benefit corporation whose goals are to promote and encourage community based learning. The goal of the site is to serve as a hub for locally based learning opportunities and to encourage individuals, organizations, and small businesses to share their knowledge through classes, seminars, workshops, mentoring, and other educational activities.

In 2012, I returned to E-Democracy.org to help with the BeNeighbors program, funded by the Knight Foundation. My responsibilities included providing tech support to E-Democracy.org users, creation of support documentation, and the creation of a simple video to help explain the project to members of the community.
